Like any great idea Dude Thing
Creations started on a whim, in some guy's garage. That guy is Kevin and his brother Andrew. They were organizing
the new media room; running cable for the surround sound, getting the DVD case together and of course preparing the Rock Band©
and Guitar Hero© paraphernalia to put away in an accessible spot.
After assessing the amount of Rock Band© and
Guitar Hero© controllers he had it dawned on both of them - Where will we put it all? After seeing the feeble options
available on Ebay, Kevin and Andrew knew they would have to come up with a stylish and functional solution to store their
gear (must keep the wife happy!). That's how the Dude Thing Creations Rock Band©/Guitar Hero© Stand
was born!
With a bit of computer aided drafting, (okay it was actually days), purchasing of materials, and a lot of sawdust
later Kevin and Andrew had a fully engineered precision stand. It perfectly fit the guitars, microphone, and held the controllers
on the table top. After Kevin painted his new stand and set it in the media room - he knew that other dudes out there
would want something similar, so he decided to see if it would sell on Ebay.
After selling them like hot cakes for almost a month
these gentlemen realized they needed more brain power and brute strength to operate the new table saw, tools and paint booth;
so they welcomed Roland and his wife to their small but growing workshop, all the while utilizing their wives and girlfriends
to assemble hardware bags, ship boxes, prepare labels and test drive instructions (if Kevin's wife can put this thing
together - anyone can).
So after nearly 2 months of manufacturing; Dude Thing Creations has grown to a small workshop
and is sending out multiple stands a week. Prototypes for new products are currently being tested for release in the
spring and summer of 2008 - If you want your authentic Rock Band© and Guitar Hero© Stand you have come to the right
place. When all those ladies ask you why you needed to spend $60.00 to store your Rock Band©/Guitar Hero© gear;
there is only one acceptable answer:
"It's a Dude Thing!"
